CYPRUS: PETRA TOU ROMIOU - APHRODITE'S ROCK
Halfway between Limassol and Paphos, at a bend in the road, here is "Petra tou Romiou", a small cove with a pebble beach and a few rocks..
To understand this place, a little dive into mythology is necessary:
are you familiar with the legend surrounding the birth of Aphrodite, daughter of Zeus?
The legend tells that the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite, was born here from the sea foam.
Since then, the rock at the end of the beach has been called the "Rock of Aphrodite."
Today's young Aphrodites enjoy having their photo taken with the Rock in the background!
