In 2005, same season... Yet, the campground is almost deserted!?

At best, only 5 or 6 pitches are occupied on the immense ground; my igloo tent and I feel a bit lonely!

It is clear that this type of tourism is also declining in Martinique.

One might think that backpackers, with long hair and colorful backpacks, no longer exist!...

Or... that they have all chosen accommodation in Club hotels!

Moreover, this campground is the last one still open in Martinique.

The other one, located at Anse à l'Ane, has been closed since 2004.

In the early 90s, it was also possible for me to hitchhike around the island!

But it seems that this mode of transport is no longer in vogue; you will understand the interest of my rental car, certainly the most convenient way to visit Martinique.
