In more than half of the plantations in Martinique, sugarcane is still cut in the traditional way...

That is, by hand, close to the ground, using a machete, in order to guarantee better yield and regrowth.

It's worth noting that the same cane will regrow every year for 7 years.

A good cutter can cut up to 5 tons of cane in one day!!!
