Another danger: Tarantulas!!!

In Martinique, there are two endemic species of tarantulas.

Named "Matoutou", these large spiders with a diameter of 15 cm are easily recognizable by their hairy legs.

Their bites are painful but not lethal.

Still, be careful where you step! (both for them and for you!)

This "Cliff Matoutou" was not so lucky and got crushed by a hiker right in the middle of the trail!
